In our first podcast Dr. Justine Chinoperekweyi (http://drjustine.net/ ) shared his experience as a scholar, author, and practitioner of OD in Africa and the Middle East. Justine suggests formulaic OD without contextual intelligence, is problematic, and stresses the importance of enquiry and engagement. In this second podcast, we are joined by Angelika Burovski, an OD Gestalt practitioner from Skopje, North Macedonia, part of the Balkan region in South East Europe with its recent and current history of conflict. Both our guests work in culturally rich parts of the world, with complex political, social and economic histories. Justine brought to our attention the moral courage and understanding of the structural, cultural, and social contexts needed to undertake OD in complex environments. Angelika shares with us how her work, based on Gestalt principles, works with communities with a history of trauma, and invites people to use their whole intelligence and stresses the vital importance of being fully present in the field as we strive to bring about effective and impactful OD.
